With a 6 feet 9 inches tall frame, Ziaire Williams plays as a versatile swingman for the Brooklyn Nets. He can play as a small forward as well as a power forward. His basketball journey began at Notre Dame High School in Sherman Oaks, Los Angeles, where he emerged as a five-star recruit. In 2019, Ziaire Williams transferred to Sierra Canyon School, joining a star-studded team that included Bronny James, Zaire Wade, and BJ Boston. Williams' impressive high school play earned him Player of the Year honors from the Los Angeles Times. After high school career, Williams decided to play for Stanford University, and by doing so, he became the highest-rated recruit in the program's history. During his amazing one season at Stanford, Williams was ranked eighth all-time for freshman points per game and sixth in free throw percentage (79.6). Notably, Ziaire Williams also recorded a triple-double and became the first Stanford player to do so since 2007.

In the 2021 NBA Draft, Ziaire Williams was picked tenth overall by the New Orleans Pelicans and was immediately traded to the Memphis Grizzlies, where he had a solid rookie season with averages of 8.1 points over 62 games. After a couple of seasons with the Grizzlies, his career saw a new chapter in the summer of 2024, as he was traded to the Brooklyn Nets along with a second-round pick in exchange for Mamadi Diakite and draft rights to Nemanja Dangubić.
