Kasparas Jakucionis plays as a guard for the Illinois Fighting Illini basketball program and is a freshman in the 2024=25 season. Kasparas hails from Vilnius, Lithuania, and trained at FC Barcelona. Kasparas Jakucionis played for European powerhouse FC Barcelona before joining the University of Illinois. Throughout his career, he played with the club's second team. During the 2023-24 season, he played in 19 games, averaging 19.2 points, 6.6 rebounds, 5.7 assists, and 1.6 steals per game while maintaining shooting percentages of 48% overall, 38% from three-point range, and 88% from the free-throw line. Kasparas scored in double figures 16 times, with 10 games of 20 or more points, topped by a career-high 39 points against Alfinden. Jakucionis showed his versatility by scoring 26 points, grabbing 17 rebounds, and assisting 11 times with a triple-double against Navas. Jakucionis also played in two Spanish League games and made his EuroLeague debut. In the Adidas Next Generation Tournament, he earned All-Tournament Team honors and was recognized as the MVP in Belgrade, Serbia, after leading U18 FC Barcelona to the finals.
