The Army Black Knights are a member of the American Athletic Conference (AAC) in college football in the United States. The major rivals for the Army Black Knights in college football are the other two miltary based teams: the Navy Midshipmen and the Air Force Falcons. The Army Black Knights and the Navy Midshipmen already contest their rivalry in the Army-Navy game every season. Moreover, all three of these teams also compete for the Commander in Chief's Trophy every season. Jeff Monken serves as the head coach of the Army Black Knights football team, as of the 2024-2025 season. Hailing from Peoria, Illinois, United States, Jeff Monken is notable for being a former college football player. He served as the wide receiver for the Millikin Big Blue football team from 1985 to 1988. After his graduation from Millikin University, he started his career as a football coach. His coaching career has led him to serve the as the head coach of the Georgia Southern Eagles from 2010 to 2013. During his tenure with the team, he won two SoCon titles in 2011 and 2012. His coaching career also made him the recipients of two Lambert Trophies in his career in 2018 and 2020. More recently, he won the AAC title in 2024.
