Xavier Worthy was born on April 27, 2003, in Fresno, California and attended Central East High School in his hometown. Initially committing to the University of Michigan for his college football career, Worthy later committed to playing college football at the University of Texas at Austin. Worthy played three seasons at Texas from 2021 to 2023. As a freshman, he had 981 receiving yards and 12 touchdowns. In his sophomore year, he recorded 760 yards and 9 touchdowns.
