Sam Hartman is a football quarterback and is a native of America. He is presently the quarterback for the Notre Dame Fighting Irish. In the past, he has also played for the Wake Forest Demon Deacons.
Born in Charlotte, North Carolina, United States on July 29, 1999, Sam Hartman started playing football as a quarterback ever since his high school days at Davidson Day School. During his school years, he was awarded the Charlotte Observer Player of the Week four times. He was also considered to be a three-star prospect by 247Sports. His career in college football has been remarkable and achieved many titles. He became the co-MVP of the game during the Gator Bowl in 2021 and the MVP during the Gasparilla Bowl in 2022 when he was playing with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons. Besides these, he has also received other achievements like receiving the Brian Piccolo Award in 2022.
Throughout his college football career, Sam Hartman has completed 14,203 yards in passing with a passing percentage of 59.9 and 124 touchdowns in passing. Sam Hartman and Demitri Allison shared a very close bond. Hartman considered the older Allison as an idol. After his high school years, Demitri Allison started playing football at Elon University. Unfortunately, all this would change when Demeti Allison committed suicide at 21 years old on November 11, 2015. Sam Hartman was greatly shaken by the loss of the brother whom he had idolized. It taught him the importance of family and having people who love and care about him around him. ‘
Sam Hartman had also stated that despite Demetri Allison not sharing the same last name or bloodline as him, he was very much his brother and it hurts him not to have the person he considered a brother around.
Sam Hartman started wearing 10 in remembrance and as a tribute to Demetri Allison. Furthermore, he also used the initials “D.A.” on his wristband. Moreover, he also admitted that his teammates at Notre Dame reminded him of his late brother and inspired him to continue playing football.
Wake Forest Demon Deacons
Sam Hartman started his college football career with the Wake Forest Demon Deacons in 2018. He impressed with his quarterback skills in his first game against the Tulane Green Wave and helped his team to win in overtime by throwing 378 yards. On September 29, 2018, he became the ACC Conference Rookie of the Week after helping his team to defeat the Rice Owls. Unfortunately, he had to take himself out of the action after being injured in a game against the Syracuse Orange.
Sam Hartman had an average season in 2019. While he and his team lost to the Louisville Cardinals with a score of 59-62, he managed to help his team defeat the Florida State Seminoles with a score of 22-20. Unfortunately, his team again was defeated by the Michigan State Spartans during the Pinstripe Bowl of 2019. In the shortened 202 season, Sam Hartman was made the captain of the team. Despite this, he lost to the North Carolina Tar Heels with a score of 53-59. Nevertheless, he achieved 2,224 yards by passing and was also ranked as No. 28 nationally.
The 2021 brought good fortunes for Sam Hartman. He captained his team to a score of 8-0, and was considered to be the best record in the history of the college. He achieved his then career best of passing 458 yards with 5 touchdowns in a win against the Army Black Knights. Resultanty, he was honored with several titles. He was also the co-MVP in the Gator Bowl when his team defeated the Rutgers Scarlet Knights with a score of 38-10.
In the 2022 season, Sam Hartman became the MVP of the Gasparilla Bowl by defeating the Missouri Tigers with a score of 27-27. However, his illness prevented him from achieving further credits.
