Born on February 2, 2003, Turner was selected by the Minnesota Vikings with the 17th overall pick in the first round of the 2024 NFL draft. Turner started his football journey at American Heritage School in Plantation, Florida, where he caught the attention of scouts with his remarkable defensive skills. Turner's junior year was particularly outstanding, as he earned the title of the area Defensive Player of the Year thanks to his remarkable 74 tackles, 18 tackles for loss, 15 sacks, and three forced fumbles.

Upon joining the Alabama Crimson Tide in 2021, Turner wasted no time in making his presence felt. His ability to disrupt opposing offenses was evident in his nine pressures against opposing linemen and a crucial fumble recovery. Turner's dedication and skill were pivotal in Alabama's victories, including the Iron Bowl triumph against Auburn and a dominant performance in the Sugar Bowl against Kansas State.
