The Afghanistan cricket team has faced the Men in Blue thrice in T20 World Cups so far, and have been defeated on all three occasions. The two teams faced each other in the 2010, 2012 and 2021 editions of the tournament and the then minnows lost each time. It is almost a decade since they met again but the minnows are no longer minnows and might give a tough competition to the inaugural champions of the T20 World Cup.
