
KL Rahul is a professional wicket-keeper bastman representing the Indian cricket team across all international formats. He is from Bangalore, Karnataka, born to his parents, K.N. Lokesh and Rajeshwari on April 18, 1992. Rahul started playing cricket at the age of 10. He made his domestic debut for Karnataka in 2010-11 season. He also played the Under-19 World Cup 2010. In 2013, he was picked by the Royal Challengers Bengaluru (RCB) franchise for the Indian Premier League. During the 2013-14 domestic season, he scored 1000+ runs and rewarded a place on the national team in the Test format.
KL Raul made his international debut in 2014 against Australia in a Boxing Day Test at Melbourne. In June 2016, he also made his T20I and ODI debut. As of March 2025, he has represented several franchises in the IPL history. He has played for Royal Challengers Bangalore, Sunrisers Hyderabad, Kings XI Punjab (now known as Punjab Kings), and Lucknow Super Giants. Rahul was a part of the playing XI when Team India won the ICC Champions Trophy 2025. He was also a part of the Indian squad that played the final of the ICC ODI World Cup 2023.
