Rishabh Rajendra Pant is a professional cricketer born on October 4, 1997, in Haridwar, Uttarakhand, India. He is a wicketkeeper-batsman who represents the Indian men’s cricket team across all formats in international cricket. Pant plays as the first-choice wicket-keeper who plays as a left-handed batter in the middle order.

According to Sportstar, he has already equaled MS Dhoni’s record of most centuries by an Indian wicketkeeper-batter in Tests (6). Pant is the captain of the Delhi Capitals (DC) in the Indian Premier League (IPL). In late 2022, Pant met with an accident and was ruled out for about 18 months from playing professional cricket. With MS Dhoni being left out of the central contract list, Pant was considered the first-choice wicketkeeper across formats. He missed out on playing international cricket due to his accident and earned INR 3 crores in 2024 from the BCCI.

The Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals) signed Rishabh Pant for INR 1.9 crores in the IPL 2016 auction. Since the IPL 2018 mega auction, he was retained for INR 8 crores for four seasons. Pant was the first-choice retention ahead of the IPL 2022 mega auction and has retained for INR 16 crores ever since.

After featuring in the ICC Under-19 Cricket World Cup 2016, 18-year-old Rishabh Pant was acquired by the Delhi Daredevils (now Delhi Capitals). He has been contracted with the Capitals and was appointed as the captain of the Capitals in IPL 2021.
