The EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix also referred to as the Texas Grand Prix is one of the most prominent stock car races held at the Circuit of the Americas, known as COTA, in Austin, Texas. The NASCAR Cup Series introduced COTA as a racing circuit and has become a part of the schedule ever since.

In 2020, the succeeding season’s schedule had the first-ever Cup Series race at the Circuit of the Americas. The supporting races for the weekend were the Xfinity, Camping World Truck Series, and IMSA’s Lamborghini Super Trofeo North America races. Echo Park also secured the naming rights for the Texas Grand Prix at COTA and the race was named EchoPark Texas Grand Prix.

EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix History

The EchoPark Automotive Grand Prix made its first appearance in the Cup Series Schedule in the 2021 season. The race takes place at Circuit of the Americas which was opened in 2012 and has been used for other motorsports like Formula 1 and MotoGP. The USGP in Formula 1 has been held at COTA for various years so far and has been a staple on the schedule. One of the biggest obstacles faced by NASCAR when wanting to hold a race at this circuit was the clash with the Formula 1 calendar.
