2024 Rocket Mortgage Classic weather forecast: Will storms affect play at Detroit Golf Club?

Rocket Mortgage Classic has always seen topsy-turvy weather conditions and something similar is expected this year again. The Rocket Mortgage Classic will start on Thursday, June 27.

As per reports from Detroit Golf Club, the officials decided to push the gate opening time from 10 a.m. to 1 p.m. This decision came forth as a result of a possible thunderstorm moving into the area, where the Rocket Mortgage Classic is taking place.

The officials further notified that the scheduled activities for the day, including the youth clinic and AREA 313 Celebrity Scramble, will take place in the afternoon, as decided primarily. For the scramble, Rickie Fowler and Tom Kim are listed. Going forward, the field will have Cameron Young and Will Zalatoris, among others.

As far as the weather reports for the tournament days are concerned, Saturday might have rain showers. Last year, a major storm shook the Detroit course.

Tee times and groupings for the First round of the Rocket Mortgage Classic

At the Rocket Mortgage Classic, all the golfers are grouped in a three-member trio to tee off at different times. Cameron Young is paired with Robert MacIntyre and Tom Kim to start at 7:40 AM. Akshay Bhatia, Stephan Jaeger, and Min Woo Lee are grouped to tee off at 12:43 PM.
