Almost 60 years old, the FedEx St. Jude Championship began as the "Westchester Classic" in 1967. It is the first of three annual events held to determine the FedEx Cup champion. Sponsorship caused the event to alter its name from The Northern Trust, The Barclays, and the Buick Classic, and since 1986, it has been referred to as The FedEx.
The 2024 FedEx St. Jude Championship is scheduled to take place from August 15–18 at Tennessee's TPC Southwind. To compete, golfers must rank in the top 70 on the FedEx Cup points list at the end of the regular season. The FedEx St. Jude Championship is the first FedEx Cup playoff tournament since 2007.
