Matthieu Pavon is a French professional golfer. After turning pro in 2013, Pavon's hard work culminated in a historic win at the 2024 Farmers Insurance Open. This victory not only cemented his place as the first Frenchman to win on the PGA Tour since 1907, but it also solidified his position as a dual threat, competing on both the PGA Tour and the European Tour. Currently ranked amongst the world's top 25 golfers, Pavon's dedication has earned him a dream come true - a chance to compete at the 2024 Masters Tournament.

Matthieu Pavon’s Driver

Pavon uses the 9-degree head on the Ping G430 Max driver. He has a Fujikura Ventus TR Black 6-X shaft installed on this. As the most forgiving model in the G430 lineup, the Max is without a doubt one of the best drivers available. With an incredibly stiff tip, the Ventus Black TR is perhaps the smoothest shaft in the Ventus lineup. It is made for strong swingers seeking low launch and spin characteristics while maximizing stability.

Matthieu Pavon’s Fairways

Pavon uses Ping's LST 15-degree three wood, equipped with a Fujikura Ventus TR Black shaft, specifically the 7-X version. The only difference between the shaft of his three wood and the driver is the weight; the three-wood shaft is approximately 10 grams heavier. This is a common practice among tour professionals.

Matthieu Pavon’s Hybrid

Pavon decides to employ the Ping G430, one of the greatest hybrids, to close the distance between his longest iron and three wood. He uses a shaft from the Fujikura Ventus line once more to play this, selecting the Black 10-X this time.

Matthieu Pavon’s Iron

Pavon has chosen the i230 model in his irons and has returned to trusting Ping. The i230 is a dependable, adaptable iron that can strike every stroke with a surprisingly large margin for error. For his irons, Pavon goes with the widely used Nippon Modus3 Tour 120 X shafts. These feature a moderately soft midsection to aid with feel, but a very sturdy tip section for maximum stability.

Matthieu Pavon’s Wedges

The new Ping S159 wedges that Pavon has chosen are available solely for tours in their raw finish. He employs his ' set' throwing wedge in addition to 52 degrees and 58 degrees. This three-wedge set-up is a little out of the ordinary for tour players, who typically use four or even five wedges. The flight was consistent, and the appearance was fantastic as well.

Matthieu Pavon’s Putter

Pavon utilizes a 2015 Cadence TR Tomcat C putter, which is a somewhat outdated type. This model fits a more neutral, square-to-square arc since it is face-balanced and center-shafted.

Matthieu Pavon’s Golf Ball

The Titleist Pro V1 golf ball is used by Pavon. To help him with his alignment on the putting green, he stamps his Pro V1 with an extremely thick, black line.
