The 2024 Mexico Open at Vidanta took place from February 22 to 25, with a field of 132 players, out of which rookie Jake Knapp won his first PGA Tour victory, defeating Finland’s Sami Valimaki for a score of 265, under 19, by a margin of two strokes. The event was set with a purse of $8.1 million, a winner’s share of $1,458,000 and 500 FedEx Cup points, all won by Knapp.
The Mexico Open at Vidanta played a major role in the PGA Tour schedule throughout 2024. The area benefited economically from the tournament's host region. The event is expected to generate an economic value of over 3 billion pesos. It's a significant rise over the 2 billion pesos that the event organizer, Grupo Salinas, raised at the Chapultepec golf course in Mexico City.
