The second round of the 2024 Shriners Children's Open was completed on Saturday, October 19, after Friday's play was suspended due to inclement weather. The cut line was set at 3-under and 66 players managed to surpass it.

Among those who missed the cut were several players in the FedEx Cup Top 50. They were joined by two-time Shriners Children's Open winner and defending champion Tom Kim.

5 golfers who missed the cut at the Shriners Children's Open

Of the nine members of the FedEx Cup Top 50 in the Shriners Children's Open field, five will not be playing this weekend. Three others in the top 60, including Tom Kim, also missed the cut.

Let's take a look at the top five in this group:

#1 Tom Kim

The Shriners Childrens Open is a special tournament for Tom Kim, who won it two years in a row (2022 and 2023). However, he was far from his best in the 2024 edition.

The Korean played the first round with five birdies and three bogeys (2 under). In the eventful second round, his performance was worse with three birdies, one bogey, and one triple bogey (1-over) to miss the cut by two strokes.

This is Tom Kim's first PGA Tour event since the FedEx St. Jude Championship last August. In September, he played in the Presidents Cup as part of the International Team.

#2 Tom Hoge

The American came into the Shriners Children's Open off a top-10 finish at the Procore Championship in September. His season has included 12 top-25 finishes in 27 events, with four top-10s as his best finishes.

At TPC Summerlin, Hoge carded two birdies and three bogeys in the first round, and four birdies and five bogeys in the second round. He finished at 2-over for the tournament.

#3 Stephan Jaeger

The German came close to winning at the Black Desert Championship last week. He finished runner-up at 20-under in Utah, but it was far from a similar performance from him at the Shriners Children's Open.

At the TPC Summerlin, Stephan Jaeger started with a good round of 68, but on the second day he was the victim of the strong winds and could only manage three birdies, eight bogeys, and one double bogey. His final score was 4-over.

#4 Cam Davis

The TPC Summerlin event marked the return of Cam Davis to the PGA Tour, where he had not played since the BMW Championship last August. The Australian had two very poor rounds (75 and 78) and finished second last on the leaderboard, just ahead of Carl Yuan.

#5 Adam Hadwin

The Canadian had also not played on the PGA Tour since last August, when he tied for 41st in the second event of the FedEx Cup playoffs. At the Shriners Children's Open, he shot 75 and 71 in the first two rounds to finish 4-over, seven shots off the cut line.
