The American Express 2025 is set to tee off on Thursday, January 16 at La Quinta Country Club, the Pete Dye Stadium Course at PGA West, and the Nicklaus Tournament Course at PGA West. The competition, being held across four days, will see a stacked PGA Tour field including Justin Thomas, compete for the $1.53 million winner’s paycheck from the $8.5 million purse.
Unsurprisingly, Thomas is one of the favorites to win The American Express 2025. Having had a moderate start to his 2025 schedule with a T26 finish at The Sentry, the 31-year-old will be eyeing a big result this weekend in California. As per SportsLine, the two-time major winner comes into the weekend with 12-1 odds. He shares the top position on the odds list with Sungjae Im.
The World No.21 player is among the highest-ranked players on The American Express 2025 field. However, he isn’t at the top of his form. Thomas had a moderately good 2024 season. The player managed multiple top-5 finishes, including a T6 at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, and T2 at ZOZO Championship. Interestingly, he finished T3 at last year’s American Express outing.
However, Thomas' season dipped at points as he missed cuts at THE PLAYERS Championship, Masters, and U.S. Open. It’ll be interesting to see how the ace golfer fares this season.
