The 2024 Travelers Championship is set to tee off on Thursday, June 20 at TPC River Highlands in Cromwell, Connecticut. The eighth and final Signature Event on the PGA Tour calendar will see 72 players compete for the whopping $20,000,000 prize purse.

Despite a stacked field, World No.1 Scottie Scheffler is the outright favorite to win this weekend. Scheffler comes into the 2024 Travelers Championship field with 4-1 odds, according to SportsLine.

Notably, the 27-year-old golfer tops the list despite having 43 of the top 50 names on the Official World Golf Rankings among the top contenders.

The reigning Masters champion is followed by PGA Championship winner Xander Schauffele on the list with 15-2 odds. Ludvig Aberg and Collin Morikawa share the third position with 16-1 odds each. Viktor Hovland (22-1), Patrick Cantlay (25-1) and Hideki Matsuyama (28-1) are some other names to watch this weekend.

For the unversed, Scottie Scheffler has had a strong season so far. Having started off the 2024 season with a T5 finish at The Sentry in January, the ace golfer has since won five events and finished runner-up in two.

Scheffler’s wins at AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, The Players, Masters and the RBC Heritage have made him a default strong pick for the event in Cromwell.

However, the golfer couldn’t replicate the stellar form last weekend at the US Open. The two-time major winner failed to produce a good round and finished T41 at Pinehurst. Owing to the underwhelming result, Scheffler will be looking for a strong comeback this week.

Scottie Scheffler will tee off day 1 of the 2024 Travelers Championship at 10:30 am EDT alongside Max Homa. He will follow the group of Hideki Matsuyama and the event’s defending champion Keegan Bradley.
