The 2023 Valero Texas Open concluded on Sunday with Corey Conners lifting the trophy. The 31-year-old Canadian won his second PGA Tour event after winning the same event in 2019. The champion golfer beat Sam Stevens by a shot to take the winner’s share of the prize money.
Conners earned the top prize of $1,602,000 for the win. Apart from the prize money, he also bagged valuable Official World Golf Ranking points and FedEx Cup points at the Texas Open. Meanwhile, Stevens, who finished a shot back at 14 under, won $970,100. Sam Ryder and Matt Kuchar shared T3 and earned paychecks of $525,100 each. Patrick Rodgers bagged $364,900 for finishing fifth on the table.
One of the event favorites, Rickie Fowler finished T10 along with Chris Kirk, Ben Martin, Hayden Buckley, and Padraig Harrington. They won $206,925 each. Meanwhile, defending champion J.J. Spaun settled for $83,066 after finishing T22. Kyle Stanley finished last on the Texas Open leaderboard. He returned home with $18,067.
