Jordan Spieth confirmed Friday, Jan. 10, that he plans to return to competitive golf at the 2025 Pebble Beach Pro-Am after undergoing wrist surgery last August. The second signature event of the season will be played Jan. 30-Feb. 2.

Spieth gave an interview to the Associated Press in which he discussed his comeback plans and recovery. He noted that it took him three months to be able to hit a golf ball and another month to be able to play a full round.

In addition to reaffirming his interest in returning to the PGA TOUR at the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, Spieth had this to say to AP:

"I had some really bad habits for a long time. Whether it was something that would have happened anyway or whether anything in my wrist was causing me to not be able to get into certain positions, I don’t have that issue now."

He added:

"I think I’m trying to look big picture. I don’t want to put too much pressure on a hot start. I just want to get back into a rhythm. This is by far the longest I’ve gone between tournament rounds."

Jordan Spieth also confirmed that winning the PGA Championship, which would complete the career Grand Slam, and the Players Championship are among his top sporting goals.

Spieth finished the 2024 season ranked 80th in the FedEx Cup and has not won a PGA Tour event since 2022. This means he is ineligible to play in the AT&T Pebble Beach Pro-Am, the second signature event of the season.

However, the event's title sponsor (AT&T) is also one of Jordan Spieth's major sponsors, so he will likely have one of the four waivers the company can grant for the event.
