On Friday, January 17, William Mouw had a nightmare of a round at the American Express 2025 as he shot a 9-over 81 in the second round. The worst moment of the day occurred when he got stuck on the 16th hole of PGA West's Stadium Course and eventually shot a 13.
Mouw, who earned his PGA Tour card via the Korn Ferry Tour, had a good start to the week at La Quinta as he carded a 68 in the opening round. On Day 2, he started off well and picked up three birdies to be at 2-under until the 16th hole.
On the par-5 16th, Mouw's approach shot landed inside the infamous 18-foot-deep greenside bunker. The nightmare began from there as it took him 11 more shots to finally finish the hole.
Fans online had mixed reactions to William Mouw's forgettable day at the American Express. Many fans also criticized the Stadium Course's 16th-hole design.
