On Sunday, October 19, J.T. Poston shot a 4-under 67 to win the Shriners Children's Open, finishing at 22-under to claim his third PGA Tour title, defeating Doug Ghim.

Poston finished 41st in the FedExCup standings, which secured him spots in all eight Signature Events next season, as well as an exemption into The Players Championship. However, he had not yet earned berths in any of the major championships next year.

With his win at TPC Summerlin, Poston secured a spot in both the Masters and the PGA Championship. Besides, he extended his PGA Tour membership and exemption in the winner's category through 2026.

"Thankfully was just enough there at the end" - J.T. Poston reflects on his win at the Shriners Children's Open

J.T. Poston completed his third round on Sunday morning, and three birdies over the last five holes gave him a three-shot cushion over Doug Ghim. In the final round, he started strong with two birdies in the first four holes, but the birdies slowed down as Ghim made a push to catch him.

The 31-year-old golfer bounced back with birdies on the 12th, 13th, and 15th holes, finishing with a 4-under 67. His only bogey came on the 17th hole, but he sank a clutch par putt on the 18th to secure the title at TPC Summerlin.

During the winner's press conference, J.T. Poston reflected on his final round at the Shriners Children's Open, stating that it’s never easy to win on the PGA Tour, and this time was no different.

"It was nice," he said. "I had a few holes to finish the third round this morning, and my goal was to try and snag the lead and maybe even build on it before the end of the third round. Was able to do that, which was great.
"Then obviously got off to a great in the final round. A dream scenario start, but from then on it felt a little bit scrapie and trying to be aggressive and smart because guys were making birdies. Thankfully was just enough there at the end." he added.

The Shriners Children's Open was Poston's third PGA Tour victory and his first since the 2022 John Deere Classic. He earned a $1.26 million paycheck, while runner-up Doug Ghim took home $763,000.
