Kevin Yu brought his clutch game in the last two holes on Sunday, October 6, to win the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship. First, he made a birdie putt to force the game into an extra hole against Beau Hossler, and then he made another one in the playoff to bag his first-ever PGA Tour title.
Yu entered the final round of the 2024 Sanderson Farms Championship in solo third, two strokes behind the lead. He fired a 5-under 67 to finish at 23-under and tied with Hossler after regulation. While Hossler made a par putt on the playoff hole, Yu sealed the win with a birdie.

54-hole leader Keith Mitchell missed the playoff after shooting a 70 in the final round, marking his worst round of the week. This was the second time this year he couldn't secure a win after holding a 54-hole lead. Lucas Glover also tied for third alongside Mitchell after firing a bogey-free 66 on Day 4.

Reflecting on his first-ever win on the PGA Tour, Kevin Yu called it a dream come true.
"I've been dreaming this since I was five," he said in the winner's press conference. "I just feel like to do it with my paints out here, it's really special. Everybody was saying, like first win is always very special and only get it once, so really happy. And I still got to keep going and hopefully finish the season strong."
Yu said he knew that he needed a birdie on the 18th to force the playoff.
"I had a great number and talked to my caddie, he loves it, too," he added. "I hit it to like 18 feet and that putt, I mean, was definitely stressful but definitely out there I was really calm and trying to do the best I could have done out there. Pulled the trigger, and luckily it went in and it was great."
Kevin Yu bagged a $1,368,000 paycheck for winning the Sanderson Farms Championship. Besides, he also earned 500 FedEx Cup Fall points and is now standing at 60th place.
