Nick Dunlap fired a 9-under 62 on Sunday, July 21, to win the 2024 Barracuda Championship, beating Vince Whaley by two points. The victory marks Dunlap's second win of the season and his first as a professional.

The 2024 Barracuda Championship was an opposite-field event taking place in the same week as the Open Championship. Hence, it did not feature many top players. Unlike traditional stroke play, the tournament used the Modified Stableford format, where points are awarded instead of counting strokes.

Entering the final day at Tahoe Mountain Club's Old Greenwood course well below the leaderboard, Dunlap turned it around with a bogey-free round on Sunday. He made seven birdies and an eagle, earning 19 points in the final round and finished with 49 points.

Dunlap received $720,000 for winning the Barracuda Championship, his first paycheck as a winner. He did not receive any prize money for the American Express, which he won as an amateur.

Vince Whaley, who finished runner-up, could only collect nine points after shooting 4-under 67 in the final round. Patrick Fishburn finished third with 46 points, while 54-hole leader Mac Meissner managed only 5 points in the final round, slipping to fourth place with 44 points.
