17-year-old Blades Brown teed it up this week at the PGA Tour's The American Express 2025. The emerging golfer had a rough start but impressed in the second round of the tournament, playing a round of 64. However, he failed to make the cut after three rounds, struggling again with his game on Saturday, January 18.

During the third-round post-round press conference, Blades Brown reflected on his experience of competing in the stellar field of a PGA Tour event. It was his first tournament as a professional golfer.

Speaking about his professional debut, Brown said (via ASAP Sports):

"I mean, it was a blast competing on the PGA TOUR. Unfortunately, I wasn't able to convert coming down the stretch, but, I mean, a lot of practice. I'm glad I'm doing it right now, that way I can learn. My dad always says, 'You win and you learn', and I'm definitely going to learn from this experience," he said.

Blades Brown started the third round strong, making back-to-back birdies on the first and second holes. He added another birdie on the fifth hole but bogeyed the seventh. On the back nine, he struggled, carding consecutive bogeys on the 14th and 15th holes, followed by a double bogey on the 17th.

During the press conference, he opened up about his struggles on the 17th, saying:

"I wasn't really feeling nerves very much, it was just, it was 141, and the greens are so firm, especially on the Stadium Course, that we were playing, I think Jack said maybe like a five-yard skip with a pitching wedge. I mean, that's a lot."

He played the third round at 2-over 74 and wrapped up with a total of 6-under, missing the 9-under cutline by just three shots.

The PGA Tour event is scheduled to have its finale on Sunday, January 19.
