Rick Yukata "Rickie" Fowler is an American professional golfer born on December 13, 1988. At the 2023 U.S. Open, he set a championship record by shooting 62 in the opening round, becoming one of only four golfers to achieve the feat. Before turning professional in 2009, Fowler was ranked No. 1 in the Amateur World Golf Rankings for a total of 36 weeks in 2007 and 2008. He attended Murrieta Valley High School and played collegiate golf for Oklahoma State University. Between 2005 and 2008, Fowler won five amateur events and finished runner-up at the 2008 Eisenhower Trophy. In the same year, he was awarded the Ben Hogan Award.

In 2009, as a professional, Fowler earned PGA Tour Rookie of the Year honors. He has also represented the United States in the Ryder Cup, Presidents Cup, and World Cup between 2010 and 2023.
