Rory McIlroy has won two Players Championships, in 2019 and 2025.
McIlroy won the 2019 Players Championship against Jim Furyk by a margin of one stroke, with a score of 272, under 16. Since Sandy Lyle's 1987 win, this was the second time a British golfer won the Players Championship. Notably, by this time, he had already won 15 PGA victories, making him the third golfer to achieve it before the age of 30, after Woods and Nicklaus.
