The Quail Hollow Club was established in 1959, with the golf course opening in 1961, but exclusively for members. The 18-hole course was designed by the esteemed architect George Cobb but has been altered numerous times by Arnold Palmer (1986) and Tom Fazio (1999, 2003, 2014–2016).
