In their 2012 divisional playoff game, San Francisco 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick rushed for a NFL record 181 yards, and the Green Bay Packers vowed the QB wouldn’t do it again.
They were right with the exception this time Kaepernick picked apart the Packers secondary hitting TE Vernon Davis for two touchdowns and WR Anquan Boldin for one.
Kaepernick barely ran any read-option plays on Sunday, choosing to throw from the pocket and proved he’s no one trick pony. He hit Anquan Boldin over and over again on the way to racking up 412 total passing yards.
After the game Kaepernick showed his trademark confidence letting Green Bay know that he was aware of how much LB Clay Matthews and other Packers were talking about hitting him. Matthews delivered a late hit on the sidelines as Kaepernick was running out of bounds, but it did nothing but ignite the QB. He gave a future warning for opponents to come up with a different tactic to stop the 49ers offense.
“I’m not worried about what people are saying,” Kaepernick said, via the team’s website “If intimidation is your game plan, I hope you have a better one.”
