Part of the process of a young quarterback’s growth is the maturity to know they didn’t get the job done.
Terrelle Pryor has heard how well he played, but in his words he played ‘awful.’ The under expectations of Raiders fans for a miserable preseason was the fact Pryor was actually playing good football against the Colts and had his team in position to win the game.
However, he doesn’t want to see it as a victory wrapped in a riddle of a loss.
“I could’ve helped win the game and didn’t,” Pryor said, via Scott Bair of CSN Bay Area.
“We had ‘em on the ropes and we didn’t knock them out. The record is all that matters to me. I don’t care what my numbers are. I just want to do well for the team, and I didn’t do well enough.
“Please don’t write this as cocky because it’s not. Anytime I get on the field, I feel like I’m the best player out there and that my team is going to have a chance to win,” Pryor said. “That’s my job. I need to get the ball into the right hands and make plays. We have to get better. I know I do.”
“That’s why I’m very disappointed,” Pryor said. “At the end of the day, I learned a couple things that I can put in my bag of treats and use in the future. You have to keep learning.”
