Vikings fall out of top 16 to No. 18 on PFT power rankings

The Minnesota Vikings fell to No. 18 in the Profootballtalk.com power rankings after losing to the Detroit Lions. Fans in the Twin Cities are starting the calls for QB Christian Ponder’s head.

The third-year signal caller struggled with his accuracy and decision making in the loss to the Lions.

Ponder attempted two ill advised throws in the second quarter, one that was intercepted and another that came dangerously close.

Heading to Chicago, the Vikings are facing a crucial early season game as they do not want to go 0-2 and dig themselves into a hole so early in the year.
