Minnesota Vikings LB Desmond Bishop suffered a severely torn hamstring in the preseason on 2012 while with the Green Bay Packers. So severe, some thought it was career ending. However, Bishop has battled back and showed flashes in the final preseason game leading the defense in tackles and looking comfortable at outside linebacker.
He played so much in that preseason game the team didn’t want to risk him injury his hamstring again, but they needed to know if he could get through an entire game healthy.
Coach Leslie Frazier said the team has plans for Bishop, but he needs some time to continue to learn the playbook and get his body ready for game action.

“I think I’ve proven myself, that I’m back healthy,” Bishop said, via Brian Murphy of TwinCities.com.
“That was the main thing they wanted to see. When I was healthy and played, I showed that I played at a high level. I’m a competitor. I feel like I can help the team, but that’s not my call, so I’m just waiting for my opportunity.”
“We do have a plan for him, and we’ll see how things go this week,” Vikings coach Leslie Frazier said. “Nothing different that he has to do, other than to continue to learn and continue to work as hard as he can.”
