Commentary

That wraps it up! Australia have been a force to reckon with on this tour. Their performances have been clinical and their domination of world cricket has continued. It has been a pleasure bringing you the coverage of this match as well as the entire tour. On the behalf of Bidipto Dutta and the entire team, this is me, Darpan Tikiya, signing off!

Alyssa Healy (Australian Captain): No complaints at all. It has been a very good tour for us. The hospitality has been top notch. Thanks to Bangladesh for hosting us. Our group has got a lot out of this tour. We did a lot of things right and that's what we spoke of: adjusting to the conditions with bat as well as the ball. I am proud that each of the 14 girls is taking something out of this tour that they can use in September [at the T20 World Cup] later on. Now, we will have a little time off and then get ourselves ready for later in the year. It is a huge summer for us. (on being asked about the world cup) The oppositions can prepare as much as they like. We have a few plans up our sleeves.

Sophie Molineux (Player of the series): It has been good fun. I am enjoying this squad's company and the cricket. These were different conditions to home and it was to be expected. Great to be out here and hopefully we can take this experience and use it later in the year. There is plenty of people who have been with me along the way. Players, people at NCA, people back home - a lot of them to thank. Will be nice to win the [T20] World Cup but I am focused on trying to stay on the park right now.

Tayla Vlaeminck has been adjudged the Player of the Match! Here is what she has to say.

Tayla Vlaeminck: It was good fun, taking wickets, getting to play like this, so yes, it was great fun! It was a tough time through that injury phase but am glad to be here right now. It's always a dream to play World Cups and I'm very much pressing for a case to play in the T20 World Cup coming up later in the year over here.

Nahida Akter (Bangladesh Women vice-captain): We wanted to do well in this series after the ODIs, but, a little better application would have helped us, which was not to be. The youngsters are trying their best every time, hope the efforts come good. Nigar Sultana is a little unwell and that is why she came lower down the order.

Australia would be quite delighted with what they have achieved on this tour. This was the first time a lot of their players were experiencing the foreign conditions in Bangladesh. They have not only adapted and adjusted in accordance, but have been absolutely dominating against a team which has given strong teams like India a run for their money in the past. Yet again, this mighty Australian side has delineated that they are a couple of leagues above the rest.

The Sher-e-Bangla National Stadium saw a similar story play out as the Australians dominated the entire match and ended up winning it in comprehensive fashion. Bangladesh did bowl well in the middle overs and were hence able to keep Australia down to 155/5 in 20 overs.

At the toss, Nigar Sultana had mentioned that that was the kind of score they would fancy chasing. However, it did not pan out the way she had imagined. Most of the Bangladesh batters looked like a fish out of water. They struggled to get any sort of momentum going their way.

The skipper had demoted herself to no.7 to give opportunity to others but it did not work out very well as when she walked in the game was already lost. Bangladesh had not even put 40 runs on the board and had used up almost 9 overs and half the batting line up. She did score a 31-ball-32 to salvage some pride but it was she was alone never going to be enough to give the mighty Aussies a scare.
