Alas, our desiderium ends in disappointment. Well, such is life. The points will be shared equally between the two teams who would now go in different directions. While, India has already booked a berth for themselves in the Super8s, Canada's tournament comes to an end. They would take with them the happy memories of their win against Ireland and hope to come back strong in the next T20 World Cup. It has been great to have the company of our patrons, particularly those who kept us entertained by sending their comments in. I hope you enjoyed our company too. It is time for the duo of Darpan Tikiya and Pradeep to wave you goodbye. But don't go too far. Remember, there is an all important game - England and Namibia - coming up. Our live coverage for that match begins soon.
11:31 AM local time (9:01 PM IST):The match has been abandoned without a ball bowled.
The umpires made their way out to the middle and it did not take them long to arrive at a decision. They poked at the wet patches with their umbrellas and found that the sand based outfield was still too spongy. They have made the call to abandon the match. The points will be shared equally between both the teams.
Pulkit Meena: "This WC has surely been "a wc of upsets" and we have seen big teams like NZ, PAK, SL, may be ENG getting out in first stage itself. So happy that cricket is going in all corners of world." - Well, England's faith will be decided within the next 12 hours. Two important matches coming up: England vs Namibia and Australia vs Scotland.
Ravindra: "Why is the match not live?" - The play hasn't yet started, Ravindra. It has been raining for a few days in Florida now. The skies are not leaking at the moment but there are some damp patches on the field which are a cause of concern. The last thing you want to see is your favourite player tripping over due to it and getting himself injured.
Ashish: "I seriously feel that world cup matches should be played in a closed ground... I mean every match is important... loosing matches due to rain is seriously a disappointing issue...Hopefully we can see closed grounds in the future days" - Well, there is a stadium with a retractable roof in Australia. However, I have heard that they are very expensive to build.
Madhav Wadhwa: "I think Virat Kohli should bowl today." - The last thing you want is for him to get injured while running in to bowl on a wet square in a dead rubber, Madhav.
While we await the next inspection, which would be in 15 minutes from now, let us keep our fingers crossed and hope that we would get some action soon. After all, there are some records that could be broken today. Read about them here ⬇️
11:05 am local time (8:35 pm IST): The Indian players can be seen sharing some laughs on the field. They also seem to be tossing a football around. It isn't raining but the covers pitch and the square are still under covers. The concern at the moment is the wet outfield. Neither of the teams would be wanting to risk an injury to their players because of the soggy outfield, especially in a dead rubber. Remember, the next inspection is in 25 minutes from now.
Lakshya Gupta: "Angry because of wet outfield" - Control U̶d̶a̶y̶ Lakshya, control!
Chinmay: "I think India should bring changes to the XI as they are already qualified for Super-8s" - Feel free to tell us about your thoughts in detail, Chinmay. We have some time on our hands.
Ansh: "This world cup is going unique , One side USA have qualified and other side Pakistan and New Zealand are eliminated. We do not know what all upsets we will face in this world cup" - You cannot take any team for granted in this format. In fact, that is what the last two editions of the T20 World Cup have shown.
Paras: "In group A, the most interesting match was that of Pakistan vs USA, where an underdog team defeated a well-established one." - That is why we love World Cups! Isn't it, Paras?
Shyne: "Most important moment in the world cup, I think was the last ball of South Africa vs Nepal match. Even Nepal has lost, they have done a great thing." - They fell a couple of inches short of taking the game into the Super Over. But yes, a remarkable performance.
Affan: "It was amazing to seeing Rishabh Pant on the crease" - Well, there are somethings in life that give you a thrill but it is hard to explain why. Rishabh Pant sending the ball out of the park, while tumbling over, is one of those.
Max: "Favorite moments are aplenty. But I want to highlight a bowler I've just loved watching this tournament. Fazalhaq Farooqi!" - He has been bowling like a dream, hasn't he, Max?

Looks like it is time for us to remind ourselves as well as our patrons about the age old saying: "Patience is bitter, but its fruit is sweet". Let us be patient and hope that we will get some action soon. The good news is that it is not raining.
10:40 AM local time (8:10 PM IST): The next inspection is scheduled at 11:30 AM local time (9 PM IST). It's going to be that kind of a day we're afraid!
