Commentary

Well, then. There's only one unbeaten side remaining in this tournament and it is the Mumbai Indians. They solidify their spot at the top of the table with this win and give the Delhi Capitals a bit of a reality check. There's still plenty to do in this tournament, so the buck doesn't stop here, of course. RCB takes on the UP Warriorz tomorrow, with Smriti Mandhana and her side looking to break their duck and get their first win of the season. Will tomorrow be the day they manage to do so? Saika Ishaque is the Player of the Match. Let's hear what she has to say: Feeling very nice. It feels like a dream but it's a reality. I bowled well, so it's good. The captain, coaches, Jhulan ma'am, and the rest of the coaching staff have all been supporting me. Can't ask for much more. The role is the same (as with Bengal in the domestic circuit). Have to focus on one ball at a time and one game at a time. Only have to keep doing well. I like it (the Purple Cap). No pressure, just want to keep doing well and keep taking wickets.

Harmanpreet Kaur (Mumbai Indians captain): Today our bowlers did really well and were bowling according to the plans. They are making my job easier. They are so keen to bowl and give us the breakthroughs. Really happy with the performance. When you have so many bowling options, your job is so easy. Credit goes to them. Bowling according to your field is key in T20s and we were able to do that. After the last game, we discussed we bowled some bad balls. The bowling department is important in this format and we're pleased with that. The openers took the time and played sensibly. Now the tournament will start with the wicket slowing up. We just have to back ourselves and keep doing what we're doing.

Yastika Bhatia: (About the pitch) I thought it was alright. Some balls when they bowled in good areas, it held back. But overall, it was a good wicket to bat on. I think in my mind that I have to play according to the merit of the ball and hold my shape. Luckily, it paid off. (Whether she wanted to take on the bowlers) Not really, I was just playing according to the merit. They were in my area, so I went for the shots. (Batting with Hayley Matthews) She is a rock-star, I enjoy playing with her. We back each other. Yeah, it definitely helps a lot. (Whether keeping helps her batting) If we field first, I can see how the ball is coming on and whether it is coming on. So, it helps the batting

Meg Lanning (Delhi Capitals captain): Hindsight is a wonderful thing. To be honest, we were at a decent position during the 12th over mark. I will take the blame for that. Used up some balls at the top and got out at a crucial situation. Sometimes, you have got to adjust and Mumbai seemed to do it better. The pitch definitely had something in it for the bowlers, which is a good thing. You can't go out there looking at 180 from the start. Need to build partnerships. That's what we weren't able to do today. I thought Rodrigues came out and attacked the bowling. Capsey's bowling beautifully. Hopefully, I can keep contributing and we have a few more wins in us.

Clinical. Dominating. Destructive. This Mumbai Indians unit has it all and they're cruising along in this competition with nothing unfazing them at all. The winning run stretches to three in a row for the side that moves stays at the top spot to hand the Delhi Capitals their first loss of the tournament. They did it with a bit of authority too, shushing out all the early nice about this fixture being one to look forward to with an even battle expected between the two sides.

Well, from a Delhi Capitals' perspective, things didn't go their way at all. Right from the first over, the little things didn't go their way and for once, their batting unit went through a batting collapse. Some credit for that goes to the Mumbai Indians, getting their plans spot on and executed them to perfection.

After the bowling trio of Wong, Ishaque and Matthews set the game up with three wickets each in the first innings, and it was Matthews and Yastika Bhatia that did most of the job with the bat to eat into the target early on. Delhi managed to keep chipping away with a couple of wickets with Norris and Capsey dismissing the two openers, but the game was already in the bag by then.

Nat Sciver-Brunt and Harmanpreet Kaur didn't have much to do as they managed to get over the line without breaking a sweat. So, the Mumbai Indians stick to the top spot and cement their position there. Now, it's up to the rest of the pack to try and stop them. Time for the presentations, stick around.
