At the end, desiderium ends in disappointment. But well, such is life sometimes. A sturdy knock by Rassie van der Dussen, a tidy spell of 4 overs from Keshav Maharaj and Rashid Khan promoting himself to number 5 in the batting order were the highlights of 11 overs of play that happened before rain played spoilsport. Both teams take equal points from this game. With this, MI Cape Town now have as many points as the table toppers, though Paarl Royals have played a game less. On the other hand, Durban Super Giants continue to languish at the bottom rung of the ladder. Both teams have four matches each remaining in the league stage. DSG will next lock horns with Paarl Royals on Thursday before travelling to Newlands for the return fixture against MICT. Meanwhile, Rashid Khan and his men have a few days off until that game on Saturday.

As I said, it was a good plan in theory. But the "5* (8)" against his name on the batting card suggests that it didn't quite work out.

BREVIS is getting out on a ball or two as he is getting demoted in the batting order , and what do you expect a player to do in death overs , he will try to hit every ball for a boundary, this is just pathetic for someone's talent . By the way is there any update on the rain?" -- I am afraid we don't have anything novel to report, Abeer!

Soujannya Bhattacharya: "What is the current situation and how much time have left in hand for atleast a 5 over match?" -- They usually have one hour of spare time for matches in this tournament, Soujannya! So, there is plenty of time for us to get a 5-over game. I believe we could still afford to lose another 90 minutes or so. Though, this is an educated guess and not the official word. The skies continue to leak at Kingsmead.
Robin: "What do you make of Rashid's promotion in the batting order?" -- He was out there to try and slog everything, Robin! In theory, not a bad ploy to try and blunt the Noor threat. But I am not a fan of Brevis being pushed further down the order with every match.
Vipin Verma: "This was a serious fight back from DSG , MICT will try to get runs faster when game will resume." -- Touché, Vipin! They weren't quite able to make the new ball talk, but the spinners definitely quietened things down.
