The ball is going to get dirty quicker and it'll take spin sooner but with the aggressive nature of these two teams, I expect a lot of runs. So that will be it from Uppal! Sunrisers Hyderabad have gifted their beloved fans a victory to savour! Doing so, they have moved to 17 points and sit second on the table, for now. If the match between Kolkata Knight Riders and Rajasthan Royals gets abandoned due to rain, they stay second and face KKR in the first qualifier. If KKR win, nothing changes. But if RR win, the SRH come back to third and face Royal Challengers Bengaluru in the Eliminator. Abhishek Sharma (Player of the Match, 66 off 28 balls): I think after playing a few initial balls, I realized that I have to make this knock count. It was coming on nicely and so, I decided to take the attack to the bowlers. (On Brian Lara pointing out that he has fast hands through the line of the ball) Quick hands is a correct observation, he was our coach last season, so, he knows a thing or two about us. (On his preparations before the tournament) My preparation after the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy was to pick length early, and I think I've done decently up to now. (On specific plans for this game) Harshal paaji bowls a lot of different deliveries, and in the middle overs, he is tough to put away. But I was ready for it. I decided to take a few singles and then, take him on in one of those overs to put him off his rhythm. Thankfully, that too worked! (On the affectionate crowd) I want to thank this crowd for the kind of love and support it has shown to me and us, as a team, it means a lot!

Heinrich Klaasen: It's nice to hear my name (Heinrich) sometimes! I definitely practice that (his backfoot shots against spinners), also the one behind the square. I haven't hit it nicely in this period of time. I finally hit one or two today which puts a smile on my face. (On his form) I was just not watching the ball at all. I found something to challenge myself, with the spinners at the nets, just started to watch the ball and it came out well today again. It's been a long couple of months. That break was sent from the above. We'll be definitely supporting KKR today!

Jitesh Sharma (PBKS, losing captain): My boys really fought well and I enjoyed my time. Nice game without our six overseas players and we had fun. It was a nice score with this batting lineup. Don't want to take credit away from Klaasen and Abhishek. My bowlers did well. The discussions can't help you until you imply things on the ground. We thought about making our plans according to the wicket.

Chasing down 214 runs is never an easy task, no matter how good the pitch is. But when you have a batting line-up like the Sunrisers from Hyderabad, you can definitely bet on them! In the end, they did not disappoint the home crowd!

With the kind of start Arshdeep Singh gave the visitors, one thought that Travis Head going back for naught first ball would put immense pressure on the batting. But Rahul Tripathi and Abhishek Sharma had other ideas!

The pair put on 72 runs in just 29 balls, which paved the way for Nitish Kumar Reddy to come out and support Abhishek in the best way possible. The duo for the 3rd wicket put on 57 runs in only 32 deliveries.

Abhishek was dismissed after that, but not before scoring 66 runs at a strike rate of 235.71! After that, the rest of the batting, led by Heinrich Klaasen's 26-ball 42, finished the job for the home team, all be it that it took them a little longer than usual.

But be it in the field or with the ball, Punjab Kings under Jitesh Sharma could not quite hit the straps after having a more than decent job done in the first innings. Just been a season of missed opportunities for them! No matter who played and who didn't, the collective effort to win was not there.
