Another glorious day, hardly any cloud in the sky. We're on the same wicket as yesterday. Talking about dimensions, it's 72m down the ground, 66m the square-leg to my right and 70m the offside which is a big hit. It's been a tricky wicket last week or so, bowlers have hit the hard length and made life hard for the batters. There's little place on that wicket, bowlers will hit hard on that again today. Teams winning the toss will look to bowl first, see what they are chasing.

Commentary

That will be all from us here in New York and we hope that you had a good time savouring India's win over the USA. Although the Men in Blue struggled in the chase, they were able to cross the line comfortably in the end. The USA fought hard but could not come to terms with the Indian challenge - at first with the bat in hand and later on with the ball as Suryakumar Yadav played a mature knock. Rohit Sharma (India captain): We knew it was going to be a tough task scoring those many runs. Credit to us that we held our nerves till the end. Credit to Surya and Dube for taking the game to the end and playing mature knocks. We have played cricket with a lot of these boys (in the USA team) and I wish them the best. They are hardworking guys and they are making their mark in this country. Bowlers had to take the lead; we knew that run scoring would not have been easy. We want options with us (Dube's bowling) and I felt that the pitch had something in it for the seamers. It is a big relief (qualifying for the Super Eight); playing here was not easy. It could have been anyone's game and we had to take the game deep. Luckily, we took the game till the end and won it. Surya has shown that he has a different game plan according to the pitch, and that is what you expect from your experienced players.

Aaron Jones (United States of America captain): I would say 10 to 15 runs short on that wicket, if we had got 130 or 135, would've been a tough total, that's how it goes sometimes. The boys have been disciplined today, pleasing to see the game went close, proud of the bowling unit. Definitely good, this is something we been talking about last couple of years, wanted more fans for USA cricket, now is the time we're really enjoying it. We're just going to revamp right now, going to have few meetings and come hard against Ireland for sure. To be honest, the wicket was a little tricky, we know what Dube can do against the spin. I thought seamers are best option. Most probably Monank is fit for the next game, just have slight niggle, nothing too serious.

Arshdeep Singh is the Player of the Match! Here's what he has to say: Very happy with the performance, last two games I gave away many runs, the team always backs me and I had to do it for them. Wicket is very useful for the fast bowlers, helping us to get the seam movement, plan was simple, just land it in the right areas and let the ball do the talking. That's the talk in the dressing room, not to give easy deliveries as their batters were struggling too, the plan was to hit the hard lengths and see what the wicket does. In conditions like this, you can use the wicket more, you can try the yorker using the wicket and surprise the batter. When you are playing international cricket, you need to have routines, take care of your body and how you warm up before the game starts. All the bowlers who have got the chance, done extremely well and looking forward to do well in the next leg as well.

Despite the early setback of losing Rohit Sharma and Virat Kohli for practically nothing on the board, India managed to win this game quite comfortably in the end.

The duo of Shivam Dube and Suryakumar Yadav struggled throughout their time in the middle but they were able to take their team over the line comfortably.

The USA bowlers were well-set in their minds to not give too much of room for the Indian batters to free their arms, and this did work for them for a large extent.

The Americans will be confident of the fact that they at least put up a strong showing today and forced the Indians to play out of their comfort zones.

Saurabh Netravalkar was the star with the ball in hand for the Americans, but Yadav's mature batting till the end helped India cross the line and take the flight to Miami without any worries.

18.2 Ali Khan to Shivam Dube, INDIA WIN AND ARE THROUGH TO SUPER 8'S! Length delivery on the stumps, Dube smashes it back past the bowler, long-on gets around with a dive to stop it but they come back for the second to seal the game. Pakistan will breathe much better after this India win as they stay alive in the competition!

18.2 Ali Khan to Shivam Dube, WIDE! Tried to keep it wide of off-stump, but Ali Khan goes wayward, went way outside the tramline and that is a wide.

Superb knock from Yadav! He stood firm when the going was tough for India and did the bulk of the scoring in this partnership.

18.1 Ali Khan to Suryakumar Yadav, FIFTY FOR SKY! Not the typical SKY innings, he had to grind hard to get to his fifty but this'll make him feel a lot better. Low full toss on the pads, SKY clipped it to backward square-leg for one.

This game can be sealed off with one blow now. The USA's reluctance to bowl Harmeet Singh to a struggling Shivam Dube may end up working against them. The left-arm spinner was one of their trump cards coming into this tournament.
