A multi-time Championship winner and one of the most talented drivers under Richard Childress’ wing, Austin Dillon is currently on his 11th full-time season in the NASCAR Cup Series. Dillon started his career in the NASCAR Cup Series back in 2014.
His entry into the series was welcomed with much pomp and show as the number on the car that he was expected to drive, and he still does, once belonged to none other than the legendary Dale Earnhardt. Moreover, it was for the first time since he died in 2001 that the #3 Chevrolet was coming back to the Cup Series arena.
To this day, he has four wins to his credit, including dominant triumphs in the prestigious Coca-Cola 600 in 2017 and the Daytona 500 the following year. Dillon’s most recent win came at the Daytona International Speedway in 2022, when he won the last race of the regular season to punch his ticket into the playoffs. Besides that, he has qualified for the playoffs four other times.
2021 was arguably Dillon's most consistent season, which featured one top-five finish, eight top-10s, and an average finish of 14.4. Unfortunately, he missed out on qualifying for the playoffs. Nevertheless, he came back stronger next year and recorded a career-best performance of five top-fives and 11 top-10 finishes. By the end of the season, Dillon was standing 11th on points.
