Kickers are often the most overlooked position in fantasy football, but they count toward weekly scores just as much as any other player. Managers who find the most consistent success in their leagues know how important it is to optimize their lineups in all areas. While some managers somewhat ignore the kicker position, others will capitalize on the opportunity for additional points.
Kickers receive fantasy points for converting their field goal and extra point attempts throughout an NFL game. Extra points in fantasy football are usually worth one point, as they are in the league as well, while field goals are sometimes treated a bit differently. Rather than simply awarding three points for a made field goal like in the NFL, bonuses can sometimes be earned for distance.
Some leagues will opt to make longer field goal conversions worth more points than short ones. The most common scoring settings for fantasy football leagues that award distance bonuses to their kickers are three points for field goals under 40 yards and four points for 40 yards or longer. Some leagues will also make a field goal of 50 or more yards worth five points.
When it comes to missed field goals and extra points, it's up to the league commissioner how scoring will be determined. Some leagues don't assign a value to missed attempts, while others will deduct points for a missed kick. The same concept for negative points may apply to distance, with more points deducted for a shorter missed kick than a long one.

A common strategy for approaching kickers in fantasy football drafts is to target players on NFL teams that have a high-scoring offense. Elite offenses often create more scoring opportunities for their kickers. Efficiency can also play a major role in determining which kickers to target, especially in leagues that deduct points for misses.
In the 2024 rankings, Baltimore Ravens kicker Justin Ticker takes the top spot once again. This should come as no surprise, considering he is one of the best kickers in NFL history.
Brandon Aubrey has seen his ranking improve significantly after his first season last year, demonstrating elite efficiency in a high-powered offense. Cameron Dicker is an example of a kicker with decreasing value, as his Los Angeles Chargers' offense lost its top three producers this year.
All things considered, here's how the complete kicker rankings look ahead of the 2024 fantasy football season.
