Georgia offensive tackle Amarius Mims is expecting to hear his name called during the first round of the 2024 NFL draft next week, with many teams across the league hoping to find the next Andrew Whitworth or Joe Thomas.
Protecting star quarterbacks is becoming increasingly important with the size of investments teams are making in their signal-callers. So prospects like Mims are also increasing in value.
Standing 6 feet 8 inches tall and weighing 340 pounds, Mims is a man-mountain. This is what NFL analyst Lance Zierlein said about him:

"Talented tackle prospect carrying a picturesque frame and exciting NFL traits. Mims plays with pretty good technique and is ahead of the game with hand placement. He has the size and bend to create movement and adequate athleticism to make blocks on the move, although he can be inconsistent in that area.
"He uses a two-hand punch that causes him to lunge forward a bit, but that should be correctable. It is very rare to see him clearly beaten by a rusher, and he has the recovery talent to do something about it when it happens."
With this being a particularly deep offensive line draft, where could Mims be heading after the 2024 NFL draft?

Top 3 landing spots for Amarius Mims in 2024 NFL draft
#1 - Cincinnati Bengals
One team touted to take Amarius Mims in the 2024 NFL draft is the Cincinnati Bengals. Mims, much like Bengals OTs Orlando Brown Jr. and Trent Brown, is a man mountain, meaning Cincy could fit the mold of its offensive tackles by taking Mims.
Despite the Bengals only picking up Trent Brown this offseason, he's now 31, meaning if they select the Georgia Bulldog with the 18th overall pick, they could solidify the future of their OTs for the next 5-10 years.
Cincinnati could also do with getting younger and cheaper on its offensive line, having made QB Joe Burrow the highest-paid player in NFL history before last season.
#2 - Green Bay Packers
Having lost both David Bakhtiari and Jon Runyan on their offensive line this offseason, the Green Bay Packers may take a punt on Mims with the 25th overall pick should he fall to them.
The Packers are known across the NFL to be arguably the best team at drafting and developing offensive line prospects. So this pick could be a match made in heaven for both parties.
#3 - Pittsburgh Steelers
An often-touted pairing could come to fruition if the Pittsburgh Steelers select Amarius Mims with the 20th overall pick in the 2024 NFL draft. This selection would see Mims team up again with his former Georgia Bulldogs teammate Broderick Jones on the opposite end of the line.
The Steelers addressed their needs at quarterback by picking up both Russell Wilson and Justin Fields during the offseason. So they could help keep themselves upright with this pick and improve what has become a below-par offensive line in recent years.
