Christian McCaffrey is reportedly on the trade block as the Carolina Panthers are apparently listening to offers for their superstar running back. This is one of the biggest trade rumors of the 2022-23 NFL season so far.
McCaffrey is one of only three players in NFL history, along with Marshall Faulk and Roger Craig, to record 1,000 rushing yards and 1,000 receiving yards in a single season. He is one of the greatest dual-threat running backs of all time when healthy. He's recorded a massive 4,357 scrimmage yards and 32 touchdowns across two full seasons as a starter in 2018 and 2019.
Christian McCaffrey spent most of the 2020 and 2021 NFL seasons injured, appearing in just 10 combined games. He's been healthy and available for all six of the Panthers' games so far this season. This makes him an extremely attractive trade target, especially considering he carries less than a $9 million cap hit this year.

#3 - Miami Dolphins

The Miami Dolphins were extremely aggressive during the 2022 NFL offseason in upgrading their offensive weapons. Their biggest score was acquiring Tyreek Hill, but they also added Raheem Mostert, Chase Edmonds, and Cedrick Wilson, among several others.
The Dolphins could potentially make another major move in upgarding their offense by trading for Christian McCaffrey. They currently average the third fewest rushing yards per game, so he fills the need. They are also in the top 10 for available cap space currently, meaning they can afford him.
#2 - Los Angeles Rams
![Los Angeles Rams HC Sean McVay](https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=190 190w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=720 720w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=640 640w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=1045 1045w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=1200 1200w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=1460 1460w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg?w=1600 1600w, https://staticg.sportskeeda.com/editor/2022/10/5a2aa-16659337372479-1920.jpg 1920w)
The Los Angeles Rams are one of the NFL teams rumored to have already reached out to the Panthers regarding their asking price for Christian McCaffrey. Rams general manager Les Snead has built a reputation for adding veteran stars midseason, including Odell Beckham Jr. and Von Miller last year. McCaffrey could thus potentially be his next target.
The Rams have been unable to establish a solid running game this season, entering Week 6 averaging the fewest rushing yards per game. Christian McCaffrey could provide them with a huge boost to their offense and take some of the pressure off Matthew Stafford in the passing game.
#1 - Buffalo Bills as Christian McCaffrey's top option

The Buffalo Bills have been one of the most dominant offensive teams in the NFL this season. They currently lead the league in total yards per game and passing yards per game while ranking second in points per game. They rank just 14th in rushing yards per game, so improvements in that area could take them to the next level.
The Bills' biggest weapon is also one of their relative concerns as quarterback Josh Allen is the team's leading rusher entering Week 6. McCaffrey can take a ton of pressure off Allen in the rushing game while also giving the latter another reliable target in the passing attack.
