The Indianapolis Colts' 2024 season ended in disappointment since they failed to get a playoff berth. The Colts finished second in the AFC South with an 8-9 record, behind the Houston Texans who clinched the division.

While a few Indy players shone brightly throughout the season, some failed to deliver the goods.

#1. Anthony Richardson

After Richardson's rookie season was cut short due to a season-ending injury, many were eager to see the Colts quarterback in action in 2024. However, the signal-caller struggled with accuracy and was benched for Joe Flacco midway through the season.

After a two-week exile, Richardson regained his starting role but had the same problems with his passing. He had the worst pass completion percentage (47.7%) among all QBs in the league with 130+ pass attempts.

Richardson ended the season with 1,814 passing yards eight touchdowns and 12 interceptions. His rushing game, with 499 yards and six touchdowns across 11 games, salvaged some gloss from a poor overall stretch of games.

#2. Trey Sermon

Sermon re-signed with the Colts in the 2024 offseason. However, the running back failed to impact the team.

Although Sermon played in all 17 regular season games, the RB posted a mere 159 yards and two touchdowns on 56 carries. He also added 99 yards on 16 receptions.

Sermon couldn't support Jonathan Taylor in Indy's offensive backfield, which eventually proved costly as the team didn't make the playoffs.

#3. Anthony Gould

The Colts picked Gould in the fifth round of the 2024 NFL draft. The wideout also played a role as a return specialist but struggled to adapt to the pace of the big league.

Gould made one catch for 23 yards in eight appearances for Indy as a rookie. He also posted 95 yards on 10 punt returns and 206 yards on seven kick returns.

Although Gould is considered a prospect for the future, he didn't have a positive impact on the team this season.
