Some NFL proprietors still prefer to stay out of politics. However, more NFL owners publicly support candidates for political office and groups for non-football-related motives, such as promoting their own ideologies or furthering other commercial objectives.
The political contributions of NFL owners mainly were restricted to a small number of high rollers before the last U.S. presidential election in 2020. However, more NFL owners have reportedly made large donations to federal political candidates and groups during this year's election season.

3) Jimmy and Dee Haslam (Cleveland Browns) - $2 million to Republican Party

According to Front Office Sports, the Haslam family, which has been a Republican contributor for many years and owns the Cleveland Browns and other professional basketball and soccer teams, contributed roughly $2 million to Republican causes during the current election season. The National Republican Senatorial Committee and its affiliated organizations have benefited the most from this funding.
The Haslams have a history of supporting candidates in politics and causes that lean toward Republicans. Additionally, the owners of the Cleveland Browns co-hosted a campaign event for Ohio U.S. Senate candidate JD Vance two years ago. Vance won the race and is currently the Republican nominee for vice president in the 2024 presidential contest.
2) Avram Glazer (Tampa Bay Buccaneers) - $3.2 million to Democratic Party
According to reports, Avram Glazer, one of six siblings who jointly owns English Premier League side Manchester United and the Tampa Bay Buccaneers, has donated over $3.2 million to Democrats during the 2024 election season, including over $1.7 million to Joe Biden and Kamala Harris.
The Democratic Congressional Campaign Committee, Democratic National Committee, House Minority Leader Hakeem Jeffries, and Democratic organizations in states nationwide are believed to have received the remaining funds.
1) Rob Walton (Denver Broncos) - $20.5 million to Republican Party
Rob Walton, the Walmart billionaire whose family paid $4.65 billion to acquire ownership of the Denver Broncos in 2022, has made the largest political contribution of any NFL owner.
Front Office Sports claims that Walton has donated more than $20 million to Republican interests this election season, with as much as $10 million going to a PAC that backs Republican Senate candidates Dave McCormick and Bernie Moreno.
According to reports, the Penners, who manage the Denver Broncos' daily operations, have also contributed up to $1.2 million, notably $1 million earlier this year from Carrie Walton Penner to a Democratic campaign group.
