The Divisional Round of the 2024 NFL Playoffs are set to kick off this weekend with four intriguing matchups featuring the final eight teams. The schedule saved the best one for last as the Buffalo Bills will take on the Baltimore Ravens on Sunday Night Football.
In addition to being two of the best teams in the NFL this year, they also feature arguably the two best quarterbacks from this season as a whole. Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen are currently the two favorites to be named the NFL MVP for this year, so the two facing off in a playoff game adds to the excitement.
While both of them have been absolutely elite this season, Jackson has turned in superior statistics in most categories. Here are three reasons why he will enter the Divisional Round in better overall form.

#1 - Passing efficiency
Lamar Jackson put together one of the most impressive statistical seasons of any NFL player this year. He was extremely efficient with his passing attempts, including leading the NFL in passer rating, yards per attempt and touchdowns per attempt. He also turned in an inredible 41 passing touchdowns with just four interceptions.
While Josh Allen also had a spectacular year, which is why he is a MVP favorite, Jackson has superior numbers in just about all of these categoreis. This is likely why Jackson was named the first-team All-Pro quarterback, while Allen received second-team honors, ahead of the Divisional Round.
#2 - Rushing efficiency
Josh Allen holds a significant 12-4 edge in rushing touchdowns this season, but Lamar Jackson has been more efficient in most other categories. His 54 rushing yards per game are significantly more than Allen's 31, as are his yards per attempt. Jackson led all players this season with a massive 6.6 yards per carry to go with his 915 yards.
#3 - Head-to-head advantage
Lamar Jackson and Josh Allen have faced off head-to-head five times during their careers with the Baltimore Ravens and Buffalo Bills. While Jackson holds a slight advantage with a 3-2 record, his numbers in those games have been better, including when the Ravens defeated the Bills earlier this year.
Jackson holds a 6-2 advantage in passing touchdowns, 93-66 edge in passer rating and a 66-49 lead in completion percentage. He has also rushed for nearly double the amount of yards in games that they play against each other, so this could all play a role when they meet again in the Divisional Round this year.
