ESPN's Todd McShay's latest mock draft was published on Tuesday, which gave an interesting take on the NFL team's selections in the first two rounds of the 2023 NFL draft.
The 2023 NFL Draft is just around the corner now and predictions in the name of mock drafts are being dished out by some pro draft analysts.
The 2023 NFL Draft will be held from 27th to 29th April, 2023 in Kansas City, Missouri. While fans eagerly await the biggest event of the offseason, here are three interesting takeaways from Todd McShay's latest mock draft.
Todd McShay selects five quarterbacks in the first round
The Chicago Bears have traded their No.1 pick with the Carolina Panthers for two first-round picks and receiver D.J. Moore. The Panthers are in dire need of a quarterback and McShay thinks Ohio State QB C.J. Stroud shall be the first overall pick in the 2023 NFL Draft.

Following Stroud will be Alabama QB Bryce Young and Florida QB Anthony Richardson, who will go to the Houston Texans and the Indianapolis Colts respectively as the second and third overall picks. To do so, Indy would have to trade for their fourth position with the Arizona Cardinals.
The Tampa Bay Buccaneers acquired Baker Mayfield for a one-year contract this offseason, but McShay suggests they might still need a rookie quarterback. The Bucs are then projected to give up their 19th pick to draft QB Will Levis as the 14th overall pick in McShay's draft.
Hendon Hooker goes with the Minnesota Vikings as the fifth QB with the 23rd overall pick in the first round.
First wide receiver to be drafted is Jaxon Smith-Njigba
The top ten projections did not see any wide receivers in Todd McShay's mock draft. Ohio State WR Jaxon Smith-Njigba lands the 11th spot with the Tennessee Titans. Moving further, there is no WR until Boston College’s Zay Flowers to the Seattle Seahawks at No. 20.
Quentin Johnston of TCU came up at No.22 with the Baltimore Ravens, who will look to add offensive weapons to their roster. The Buffalo Bills have WRs such as Stefon Diggs and Gabe Davis, but according to McShay, they might draft WR Jordan Addison for the 27th spot.

Los Angeles Chargers selects Brenton Strange in the second round
Penn State TE Brenton Strange found a 54th spot in the second round in Todd McShay's mock draft. This perhaps comes as a shocker, as he was thought to be a fourth or fifth-round pick. McShay believes Strange is an underrated player and teaming him up with Justin Herbert will be favorable for the Chargers' offense.
An interesting take is that he is ahead of Iowa TE Sam LaPorta. With the 55th overall pick, LaPorta goes to the Detroit Lions.
