While the initial wave of the NFL free agency in 2023 has passed, there will still be more acquisitions and deals in the coming days, weeks, and months. Ultimately, all 32 franchises will strengthen their rosters for the summer and well beyond during the draft next month. But most of the big names up for grabs this year have already secured new teams for the 2023 season.
Taking everything into account, here are our top 5 off-season moves for 2023:
#1 - Arizona Cardinals WR, DeAndre Hopkins

DeAndre Hopkins is one of the NFL's top wideouts. He has made the Pro Bowl five times and three first-team All-Pros. He still has two more years left on his current deal through the 2024 campaign. Unfortunately, Kyler Murray's injury in the ACL makes next season highly uncertain.
According to Over The Cap, the Arizona Cardinals' roughly $26 million in cap space places them 13th in the NFL. Shipping off an older player who can't help them during what might be a rough stretch makes a lot of sense. They might acquire a new asset while preserving some capital.
DeAndre Hopkins might be the New York Jets' next offensive weapon this offseason.
#2 - Los Angeles Rams WR, Allen Robinson II
A season after joining the Los Angeles Rams, Allen Robinson's tenure in Los Angeles might end soon.
Even if Robinson's 2022 season wasn't good, the Los Angeles Rams in their entirety also had a dismal year. Robinson failed to establish a connection with Matthew Stafford and never seemed to be at ease with the Rams' offensive approach.
The Minnesota Vikings must take advantage of this opportunity while it is currently open. There's no doubt that Minnesota is in a good place to advance to the postseason, and they may even be the overwhelming favorites to sweep the division.
However, this team needs to locate a different receiving weapon. The best receiver in the league right now might be Justin Jefferson, but who comes next raises serious concerns.
#3 - Tennessee Titans RB, Derrick Henry
Derrick Henry, a talented running back for the Tennessee Titans who is reportedly up for trade, has been mentioned as a potential option for the Atlanta Falcons.
The Atlanta Falcons have a chance to win the NFC South and the division title for the first time since 2016.
In such a tight-knit division, it might only take one player to tip the balance of power in favor of one squad. Since being selected in the second round out of Alabama in 2016, Henry has dominated in the league, averaging almost 1,200 yards on the ground while averaging 4.8 yards per carry and 11.6 scores per year.
Tyler Allgeier, a fifth-round draft pick from 2022, could grow while playing with Henry. Henry could also serve as the offense's main point.
#4 - Green Bay Packers QB, Aaron Rodgers
Aaron Rodgers is trying to finalize a deal from the Green Bay Packers to the New York Jets. Although negotiations have dragged on, there may finally be an agreement sooner rather than later.
Rodgers revealed on the Pat McAfee Show more than two weeks ago that he will continue to play but wants to join the Jets. But since then, negotiations between the two sides have seemed to be at a standstill.
Notwithstanding this problem, it appears that both clubs are eager to reach an agreement. The four-time MVP would be a great acquisition for the Jets, who have been associated with signing him for a while.
The Jets are anticipated to undergo a significant and exciting offseason makeover after they complete the Rodgers signing.
Several actions by the Jets suggest a deal for Rodgers is about to happen. Rodgers collaborated with Nathaniel Hackett, New York's new offensive coordinator, at the Packers when he earned his last two MVP trophies.
#5 - Minnesota Vikings QB, Kirk Cousins
It would be simple to argue that, had their quarterback been fit, the San Francisco 49ers would have won the NFC and perhaps the Super Bowl last year.
The quarterback position for the team has thus generated a lot of interest this offseason. The San Francisco 49ers allowed Jimmy Garoppolo to sign a free-agent contract with the Las Vegas Raiders. At the same time, their two returning quarterback alternatives, Trey Lance and Brock Purdy, are fresh off long-term injuries.
Since signing with the Minnesota Vikings, Kirk Cousins has faced severe criticism, but we are familiar with his game at this stage in his career.
Although he is not a great quarterback, he is always competent. He has passed for more than 4,000 yards in seven of his eight seasons and has at least 25 TDs in all of them.
With Cousins at the helm, the 49ers would be a difficult club to defeat with their arsenal of offensive weapons, along with one of the league's top defenses.
