NFL players have voted Tyreek Hill, wide receiver with the Miami Dolphins, as the best player in the league in the NFL Network's yearly ranking of the top 100 participants.
Aside from a wide receiver unusually taking the top spot, there are some other surprises on the list too. Below, we have curated a set of 5 players who have seen the biggest slide in the list between 2023 and 2024.

Aaron Rodgers came in at number 92 in the NFL's 2024 Top 100 players list, as decided by his fellow participants. Rodgers, who was ranked No. 41 just a year ago, saw a substantial drop overall.
It's almost a miracle that the veteran QB made the list at all, considering he only played four snaps in the league last year. Rodgers suffered a season-ending Achilles injury in the first game of the season for the New York Jets and never returned.
#4 Justin Herbert, QB, Chargers (dropped 43 places)
Justin Herbert's 2023 season came to an early stop in December due to a surgery to fix his injured right index finger. In spite of this, his colleagues still voted the quarterback into the NFL's 2024 Top 100 list.
Herbert was ranked No. 32 in 2023, but he is now all the way down to No. 75 in the current rankings. His late-season absence from injury is a major contributing element to this drop.
#3 Cameron Heyward, DL, Steelers (dropped 53 places)
Cameron Heyward retained a place on the NFL's 2024 Top 100 list, though he ranked among the last three, at the 98th position, down from the 45th place a year ago.
The defensive tackle for the Pittsburgh Steelers had a rough 2023 season, partly injuring his groin in training camp and then completely tearing it in Week 1.
Heyward's injury kept him out of the game until Week 9, and even then, he didn't appear fully well. This is a big contributing factor to why he dropped far down the list.
#2 Saquon Barkley, RB, Eagles (dropped 55 places)
Saquon Barkley dropped down 55 spots from his ranking from a year ago, coming in at number 86 on the NFL's 2024 Top 100 list. The running back came in at number 31 in the same ranking from 2023.
Barkley inked a $37.75 million, three-year contract with the Eagles in free agency this offseason. Before the move, he appeared in 74 games for the New York Giants, rushing for 5,211 yards and 35 touchdowns.
Barkley contributed significantly to the Giants' passing game as well, catching 288 passes for 2,100 yards and 12 scores.
#1 Minkah Fitzpatrick, S, Steelers (dropped 61 places)
Minkah Fitzpatrick has dropped significantly on this year's edition of the NFL Network Top 100 players list, having come in at number 18 on the 2023 edition.
The 2024 NFL Top 100 list, voted on by other NFL players, placed the safety for the Pittsburgh Steelers at No. 79. Take into account that Fitzpatrick jumped all the way up to No. 18 last year after not even being listed on the 2022 list.
