Aaron Rodgers has historically been one of the best quarterbacks in NFL history, boasting a Super Bowl title and multiple MVP awards among his accolades. He is also one of its most eccentric figures, subscribing to conspiracy theories and partaking in all sorts of bizarre adventures, whether it be consuming wild South American drugs or sequestering himself from the world in a cabin in the woods.
On Tuesday, he was at it again, ranting about everything strange to his good friend Pat McAfee. Here are the biggest talking points from the interview.
5) Davante Adams and Taco Bell
Throughout his career, Aaron Rodgers has had a particular liking for wide receiver Davante Adams, who in turn has a love affair with fast food chain Taco Bell. Rodgers had a fun tale to tell about it:

“I didn’t know the kind of power that he had with Taco Bell, and I don’t think I’m speaking out of line here. But I believe somebody went to him on our team and said, ‘Hey, why don’t they have some menu item anymore?’ Sure enough, (a) week later that item was back on the menu IN Jersey.”
4) Attacking ESPN... while being on ESPN
In an alternate world, could Rodgers have been a stand-up comic? He clearly has the eccentricity to be one once he decides that football is not worth dying for. Case in point: his rant about ESPN's decline in quality — while appearing on its programming:
"The SportsCenter of my youth, those guys made highlights so much fun. Now it’s all talk shows and people whose opinions are so important now and they believe they’re the celebrities now, the stars for just being able to talk or give a take about sports, many of which are unfounded or asinine.”
3) Drones in New Jersey
Lately, there have been drone sightings all over the New York/New Jersey area. Of course, being the eccentric man that he is, Aaron Rodgers thinks that something strange has been happening there lately:
"There's been some crazy things going on. There's some drones in the sky... There's other videos that I've seen and I've talked to some friends of mine. I don't know what's going on with them. Maybe it's just some kids messing around. Maybe not."
2) Seeing UFOs in the past
Speaking of those drones, the federal government has been unable to decipher whether they are really UFOs. They could probably turn to Rodgers, who once recalled:
"We just stood there in disbelief for another few minutes. Nobody said a word. And we all kind of looked at each other like, 'Did we just see what we think we just saw? What was that?' We went back to bed but you're still not really sleeping... We looked in the papers and online the next few days, and there was nothing about it."
1) 5E - Talking to aliens
Remember Aaron Rodgers' famous "darkness retreat"? It was a heavily discussed topic in the aftermath of the 2022 season, one that initially led to speculation as to what he learned there and resolved to do once it was all over.
Now, he could be doing a variant of this: communicating to aliens, and only to aliens — the 5E (Excitement, Entry, Engagement, Exit, Extension) experience. He described this as follows:
“It's where you have a big kind of meditation circle and then you call in the aliens and you use little green lasers to bring them in."
His Jets begin their final stretch against the Jacksonville Jaguars on Sunday.
