NFL teams seeking a quarterback that can afford Deshaun Watson
#3 - Indianapolis Colts - $37 million

While trades within the division are uncommon, the Texans could potentially accept an offer from the Indianapolis Colts if they make the deal worth it. There have been several reports that the Colts will be looking to move on from Carson Wentz this year after failing to make the payoffs in the 2021 NFL season. Watson would be a huge upgrade.

#4 - Washington Commanders - $30 million

Washington signed Ryan Fitzpatrick prior to the 2021 NFL season because they weren't sold on Taylor Heinicke being their starting quarterback. Fitzpatrick missed almost the entire year with an injury and Heinicke played decently well, but may not have done enough to solidify the starting job. Watson could be on their radar if they make a few simple salary cap moves to make room for him.
#5 - Pittsburgh Steelers - $29.5 million

Ben Roethlisberger officially announced his retirement following the 2021 NFL season. This creates a void for the Pittsburgh Steelers at the quarterback position. They made the playoffs last year with Roethlisberger, so an upgrade could potentially make them Super Bowl contenders. Deshaun Watson is a much more attractive option than Mason Rudolph and Dwayne Haskins, their current quarterbacks.
