Long-term participation in a sport is challenging for all pro athletes; however, due to the physical demands, NFL players find it especially challenging. On average, an NFL player's career lasts 3.3 years, and those who remain active into their thirties are regarded as huge successes.
Tom Brady, the oldest NFL player for the 2022–2023 season, is 45 years old. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers have the oldest overall squad in the league. Brady isn't the only player in the NFL who is 40 or older this season. However, he is unquestionably the oldest player who is still playing.
Let's look at the oldest NFL players still playing this season.

Aaron Rodgers, a back-to-back NFL MVP winner, is still at the peak of his game despite being a year away from turning 40. Rodgers and Tom Brady are demonstrating that they are a special breed of players who can still get better as they age.
Given his advanced age, it is amazing that the Green Bay Packers are still regarded as contenders with him at the center.
4. Robbie Gould, 40-year-old kicker - San Francisco 49ers
Robbie Gould is a kicker for the San Francisco 49ers and has been with the team for five years. Gould spent a brief time with the New York Giants before joining the 49ers, which came after a 10-year stint with the Chicago Bears. Gould rose to the position of being the Bears' all-time highest scorer while playing for them.
Gould initially appeared unlikely to play in the NFL, but the Bears acquired him in 2005 after their regular kicker, Doug Brien, sustained an injury. Gould has had a strong career in the NFL thus far.
3. Andy Lee, 40-year-old punter - Arizona Cardinals
Andy Lee, a veteran punter for the Arizona Cardinals, is 40 years old. He is the lone player remaining from the NFL Draft class of 2004 who is still active. In the 2022–2023 NFL season, Lee was selected by the San Francisco 49ers in the sixth round with the 188th overall choice and has punted 1,466 times in his career. In his NFL career, he has appeared in 297 games overall.
2. Jason Peters, 40-year-old offensive tackle - Dallas Cowboys
Jason Peters has competed for a quartet of NFL teams, including the Dallas Cowboys, after spending five years with the Buffalo Bills, eleven with the Philadelphia Eagles, and one with the Chicago Bears.
Peters has participated in 234 regular-season NFL games since the 2004 campaign. Peters was chosen for the Pro Bowl nine times in a row while playing with the Eagles and the Bills. Additionally, in 2018, he and the Eagles won a Super Bowl.
Peters is only the second left tackle over the age of 40 to start a game in the league. Last year, Andrew Whitworth was the first to accomplish it; however, he has now retired.
1. Tom Brady, 45-year-old quarterback - Tampa Bay Buccaneers
In addition to being the best quarterback of all time, Tom Brady is the oldest player in the NFL during the regular season of 2022–2023. In March, the seven-time Super Bowl champion declared that he would be back at the Tampa Bay Buccaneers for his 23rd season after taking a temporary retirement in the winter of his 22nd season. On August 3, Brady, 45, will celebrate turning 46.
